A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Another month has passed and a new one has opened and with it many opportunities. So we thought that instead of publishing articles full of words, we would let a daily picture do most of the talking.

Throughout August, starting today, all the Contributors and I will post a picture as the focal point. We will caption each with our thoughts, reflections and what the photograph signifies for us. Today, the first of our pictorial and August 1, coincides with two celebrations. It is Heritage Day here in Canada, my second country, and Emancipation Day in Jamaica, the country of my birth.

“A photograph shouldn’t be just a picture, it should be a philosophy.” ― Amit Kalantri

A Picture A Day

Celebrate Life’s Smallest Moments

Celebration is front and centre today and as Debasish Mridha states: “Life is a celebration. Free your mind to find the liberation.”

Searching for and choosing a picture depicting celebration, I came across many. However, this one stood out as, for me, celebrating is a daily practice, whether it is a national or civic holiday. We all can find something to celebrate and often times, in fact most days it will be in the most unexpected moments.

Whether you are living in Canada or Jamaica, wherever you are in the world “free your mind” join the celebration of life this wonderful day!

What does today’s picture say to you about celebrating? Share your thoughts in the comments below, we would love to hear from you. Also, check out my Facebook page as I do post many articles of interest there that you and your friends will find interesting.

  6. A picture is truly worth a thousand words and celebrating this month is what I will do. It’s my BDAY month. And 2 of my kids’ bdays. So, when I see the picture I think of giving. Maybe because my child is always growing plants and trying to give them to me. lol

  14. Yes, yes sometimes all it takes is a picture to do the job. This pic tells me that I do not have to wait for a great deal before I celebrate. In fact I can celebrate in the hallway until the door opens.

    1. Ms Claudette

Love that Mardene, so I am joining you in the hallway! 🙂
