We Meet Again
Sometime last year or was it the year before, I found out that Monday was the day of my birth. It explained to me why the day was one of my favourites. Maybe just mind over matter but the Monday blues was not one that plagued me except during my junior high school years when a test was scheduled on that day.

I Hate Monday!
Why do people hate the first day of the week so much? Could it be that they, particularly the adults, hate their jobs? Over my working life, there have been Mondays that going in to the office was something I would rather not. But the same could be said of Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays. However, Friday is the favourite day of the week for most – workers and students alike. It is the day you get to give the boss or the principle the finger!
When we migrated to Canada, my days of working five days a week, Monday to Friday were left behind on the island of Jamaica. Rude was my awakening to learn that in North America, no day of the week was really sacred. Yes, people attend church mainly on Sunday but just as many go into work. The life of a shift worker became mine for the first many years of my life in my new country.
After doing this for a few years – when the likelihood of being scheduled for a shift – I got used to it. Still I crave a two-day weekend, whichever day they occur!
