They Are Countless
Those who have Liked my Facebook page would have read in one of my several daily posts that I no longer name myself as a Christian. That, however, does not disallow being grateful for some of the most healing, soul-fulfilling hymns and songs. Of particular value to me has been gospel.
Hezekiah Walker, a well-known gospel singer and church leader, several songs that have accompanied me across some turbulent crossings. On the other side of those tides, this song is was always on my lips:
Grateful for the things
That you have done
Yes, I’m grateful for the vic-tories we’ve won
I could go on and on and on
About your works
Because I’m grateful, grateful, so grateful
Just to praise you [dear Source]
Grateful For The Seeming Insignificant
Although I have changed some of the words, the essence remains. My gratitude for all the things in my life is enormous, particularly the small and invisible ones that have such major impact on my course. Synchronicity is another word for them. What are some of these?
- A parking spot opening up just in time so that I would not be late for an important appointment.
- A man opening the door just before all the grocery that I scraped my last pennies together to buy crashed to the floor.
- A trainee pharmacist processing my prescription in error but turns out it was just in time for me to get my medicine under an insurance policy that was about to expire.
- Someone who I thought would be a long-term partner dumping me and instead of a broken heart, doors opened for a new path to tread.
These are just a few of the seeming insignificant moments, twists of fate but ones that had life and lane-changing impact on my life.
