“An anniversary is where you look back at having either fulfilled Cinderella or Lord of the Flies.” ― Fernando A. Torres
Looking back, this one year anniversary of ours is not a fulfillment of either but it most certainly is a celebration of keeping a promise made. Blogging on and off for over 10 years up to 2015, there was never a definitive focus for any of the blogs that I have created and managed. They were all literally online journals. They were ‘places’ where the outpourings of my heart, my thoughts were shared and somewhere public to help keep me accountable. Strange as any of that many sound to you, bloggers will understand very clearly of what I speak. Blogs are creatures of their owners’ minds, hearts, experiences and creativity or imagination might be a better word.
This blog is a direct evolution from the last one – Daughters Of Sheba Foundation: Women Uplifting Women. That was a “weekday blog offering practical advice through insightful and ‘straight talk’ articles for women by DOS Founder, Claudette P. Esterine, who walks the journey to self discovery each day.” For those of you who are unaware, Daughters of Sheba Foundation was created by me many years ago. As it says, it is a vehicle for women to meet and support each other in whatever way each woman can. It started as a Facebook group and was quite active for a few years and remains open on that platform but is not as active today. The main reason for that was my decision to step out and carry the message, so to speak, to a wider audience with the hope of touching at least one life every day.
Anniversary And Social Media Mission
Social media is another creature. In its several embodiment that we today describe as “social media” are opportunities to touch the lives of people all over the world. Some have done so negatively but many more have positively affected women, men, children, families, seniors, communities, societies, groups across our world. This anniversary is a celebration of a decision to do just that – have a positive, uplifting impact on the lives of women and those who love them.
As said in an early post, numbers matter not to me. Absolutely wonderful it would be to have mass traffic on a daily basis arriving on these virtual doorsteps. Truth be told, however, with the personalised, intimate, direct and private conversations that the Contributors and I have with our Members it would be difficult to do justice to the intention of this blog.
It is my hope that you, as a Member of this community, are happy with how we have connected with you and stay in constant touch with you – through this blog as well as through my Facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest. My promise to you on this our anniversary is that while things will always change and evolve here, while new features will be rolled out from time to time, as some features are eliminated as they might not be as effective as hoped we will remain “Always Inspiring, Insightful and In-depth.”
A Year At A Time
Recently one of our Contributors, Katelyn Roth, made her departure from our midst, moving on to keep promises she made to herself for 2016 and beyond. This month as we review the intentions we have for 2016, renewing our promises, I promise that this blog, Claudette P. Esterine, will keep its primary focus of being the conversationalist on practical spiritual issues, daily living, and any other topic that affect the lives of women and those who love them around the world. We will continue to be inclusive, embracing all the differences these virtual arms can hold and respecting everyone even when we have another perspective.
Thank you for supporting us, being a Member of the community and joining in the conversations by leaving comments. As we steadily grow and tweak, we hope you will continue to share our posts across social media. Subscribe if you have not done so already, to receive all that we share only with Members. Also, be sure to actively join in this month’s conversation on “I Promise.”
Happy anniversary to us – and to you!
