One Way To Have More Milk In Life

Sins And Virtues

milkStrange topic, eh? What does milk have to do with the seven deadly sins and virtues that we have been discussing since the start of this month?

Regular readers know that every week we share a Tuesday Thought© which is a five minute video (at max) on a Jamaican proverb that highlights or underscores our conversation. Those of you who receive my Weekday Wisdom© would be aware already that this week we are talking about three virtues – Charity, Patience and Humility. Sign up and receive these daily motivations and join the exploration.

So, milk – what is this about milk and how to get more?

Tuesday Thought On Milk

Humility is one of those confusing words for many, especially in the age of social media and the most obscure video, picture or meme going viral. Everybody can be famous and no longer does that person need to be living in Hollywood or starring in the latest sitcom. Some would say that this age heralds the death of humility and they would fully agree with today’s proverb:

Humble calf suck de most milk

The literal translation of this is: “A person with humility will reap good rewards.”

You might agree or you might disagree with this and it will boil down to your understanding of the word “humility.” Grab a cup of coffee and join me as I share my thought on this in today’s Tuesday Thought© video:

You can catch up with the first video on the subject of sins and virtues here and do subscribe so that you do not miss next week’s conversation and proverb. In fact, once you sign-up you will also receive my monthly free newsletter, Weekday Wisdom and access to all published E-books, etc. We will also send you a daily email of our post, like the one tomorrow when Alexis Ali publishes her thoughts on”Patience.”

  1. I will drink my coconut milk, and LOTS of it! 😉 I have to thank my parents for my humble self. I don’t take things for granted. I am not a ego-maniac. I appreciate the finer things. I truly believe it’s because my parents raised me in a very realistic manner!

Everything sounds awesome GiGi, especially the coconut milk! 🙂 Wrote about that again today actually! 🙂

  2. So true! The truly humble don’t mind who gets the glory. They are totally happy rejoicing over and encouraging other’s successes. And they are easily taught. Lots of rewards for them!

Indeed there are lots of reward for those who cheer on the achievements and successes of others! Thanks as always for the visit Diane. 🙂

  3. Ha haaa your title had me..esp. since I cut out milk from my diet at least 2 wks every month so was wondering whether you had been peeking at my menu 🙂 Indeed the humblest amongst us receive the most rewards in life because with humility comes a lack of care for the outcome. You just want the best for all! Keep bringing Dem Jamaican Proverbs gal!

LOL, that’s so funny Julie – me peeking at your menu! 🙂 Isn’t that the truth – that when we are not so focussed on the outcome and more so on the process, things seems to work out so much better? Thanks for visiting. 🙂
