Because I Stay
Since the beginning of March, we have turned our attention to intimate relationships. We examined various aspects of how you are in relationships, what could help improve your intimate relationships and asking yourself whether you are in fact in a spiritual partnership. Reviewing all these posts to come to a conclusion as we approach the end of the month, I wondered whether anyone thought we might have suggested you behave as if you are stupid? That is putting it bluntly.
That is the furthest thing from our minds and so in today’s Tuesday Thought, I would like to dispel that notion. Every Tuesday, I share a Jamaican proverb that either directly relates to the topic of conversation or holds a seed that will grow the idea. Did you catch last week’s? If not, check it out here.
Successful, Struggling Or Just Stupid?
There are many of you in relationships that are:
- Simply Amazing
- Darn awful
This post is for those of you who are #5’s. Labelling is something that I really do not like to do but for the purposes of this conversation, I am. Everyone knows that relationship guru I am not – far from it. What I do know though is when a potential relationship is destined for “darn awful” and so not enter it. That radar took many breaking of my heart, bruises over my body, close to broken bones and the trajectory of my life completely turned around. Those who know me well and those of you who have read this blog will know that I am grateful for every breaking as they helped to make me who I am today. Single and most certainly not stupid when it comes to most things.
Here is today’s proverb and you can watch the video below to understand the wisdom of it:
Mi neva bawn wen mi madda gone a market (Translation: I was not birthed while my mother was away at the market!”)
