Love Day Fashion For You

Love Is In The Air

love“I refuse to be like ‘It was February sixth: eight days until Valentine’s Day. I was dateless, as usual, deep in the vice grip of unrequited love. It was bad enough not having a boyfriend for New Year’s Eve. Now I had to cope with Valentine datelessness, feeling consummate social pressure from every retailer in America who stuck hearts and cupids in their windows by January second to rub it in.'” ? Joan Bauer, Thwonk

Will you be dateless this upcoming Valentine’s Day? Are you in a relationship but February 14, 2016 will be just another day for you and your significant other? The day of love kicks off the big spending on gifts each year. As an example, in 2015 consumers in the United States were slated to spend close to $18.9 billion with “the average person …[spending] $142.31 on typical Valentine’s Day gifts, such as candy, flowers, and jewelry, up from the $133.91.” (Source: Momentology)

According to the Globe and Mail, Canadians also do their fair bit of spending on “Lover’s Day.”As far back as 2012, it was reported that Canadians were an average of $126 apiece on gifts for their Valentine. Statistics Canada, reported then that “Canadians spent $1.6-billion on lingerie and other intimate items and $3-billion on jewellery and watches in 2010 – websites like Haruni ( will experience spikes in sales over the Valentines period as partners look to treat their loved ones and show them how much they are valued. They spent $5.8-billion on wine in 2009-2010 and $1.5-billion on chocolate in 2009. 3 That doesn’t taken into account the 12 million roses they purchased in 2010.” (Source: Globe And Mail)

Dressed For Love

Back in the day, we used to send a card to our special one but not anymore. Maybe with the slump in oil prices we might see a return to that practice? Cards are nice and all but many or most women will want to look her fantastic best as well on the day. We decided to showcase a selection of styles that you might want to get something from. With or without a date, this Valentine’s Day Collection is for every woman. Check them out. Additionally, if you would rather purchase a piece of jewellery for your significant other, then a friend of mine has told me that you must go to Jacobs The Jeweller. They have such a wide range of pieces that you are sure to find the perfect gift in no time at all. Whether you are looking for a necklace, a ring, or a watch, the choice is up to you. Good luck!

  10. My husband and I were married on Valentine’s Day. We didn’t really do it because we liked the holiday it was mostly because it was the best day to get all of our families together and it was a three day weekend. Now we get to look at it as our own celebration instead of a made up holiday. I never liked Valentine’s day though before that.

    1. Ms Claudette

Aww…that’s beautiful! Well, happy Valentine’s Day and Anniversary when it gets here Amber! πŸ™‚

  11. The looks are lovely. I think we should show loved ones we care year round, not just on Valentine’s Day.

I don’t really think of Valentine’s Day as a big day or a day to celebrate love. At least not anymore. Lol. It’s nice that people make an effort to make their loved ones feel special. Although, it’s better to do it everyday.

    1. Ms Claudette

Yes, it is better to do it every day but there are still quite a lot of people who like the romance of Valentine’s Day. πŸ™‚

  13. Those looks are lovely. If only I had somewhere to go on Valentine’s Day. The hubby and I usually just stay home.

  14. Me and my husband have never made a big deal out of Valentine’s Day. It’s just another day to us. We show each other love all year long.

    1. Ms Claudette

Many couples are like that and that is awesome! Love is an all day, everyday thing. Namaste Jennifer πŸ™‚

  15. Love the white embroidered dress. Your right Valentines has turned into a consumerist paradise.

  16. Valentine’s Day is the single busiest day of the year at the flower shop. Most people are not like Robin Rue, or even if they celebrate all year long they do something special for Vday. My parents have been married for 67 years (yesterday) and once a month my dad sends flowers to my mom. And yes, he sends roses on Valentine’s Day. Is it a day of excuses? No. It’s a day to remember how special your loved one is.

    1. Ms Claudette

Awwww…you Dad is the sweetest!!! Yes, in your line of business Valentine’s Day must be quite hectic! I wish you much success for this one! πŸ™‚

    1. Ms Claudette

Good for you! What do you plan on doing this February 14?

  17. Robin Rue (@massholemommy)

My husband and I don not celebrate Valentine’s Day. We show each other that we love the other on the other 364 days of the year.

    1. Ms Claudette

      Amen to that Robin! πŸ™‚
