Things never are as they seem at a glance, are they? As this week progressed, and for our Roundup purposes the week begins Saturday, there I was thinking that our series of articles on prostitution would be the most read this week.
On my Facebook page and the comments after the two posts related to our look at sex work, there was a general feeling that a way ought to be found to get governments to help more in protecting women and children trapped in the trade. Roundup of Never To Repeats
Every Friday, a Roundup of the best and most read posts of the week is published and this week your choice was “Repeat That: 5 Things Best Not To”. The top three posts for the week were all written by me – thank you – but you found this one particularly interesting. Maybe you liked it because you identified with my angst with being in that transitional stage of peri-menopause, struggling with a cold or the challenges of bad dates, poor dining experiences or a broken heart?
Whatever the reasons, here are a few of my favourite comments that you made:
“I agree, that if you repeat, then you just drag it on. It is better to sweep it up and move on:) positive thoughts help us move forward with a grin :)” Danavento
“I completely agree with those things need no repeating. I’m also sick with a terrible cold, and hope it does not repeat either. Hope you are feeling better.” Shann Eva
“Ugh, I didn’t realize once it [menstruation] stopped for a long time it could still revisit. That’s not happy news!” Liz Mays
Fall Roundup: Mixed Bag
The second most read and visited was a roundup post on what this season brought home to me:
“Fall has arrived and in my house it came with a gift of the cold! Normally not one to succumb to illness – other than the so-called preexisting conditions – this bout has been lingering ever since my granddaughter, who was the kind bearer of the gift, brought it to my home.”
As with all our roundup posts, “Fall Roundup: Mixed Bag” highlighted the most visited and read post of that week. Do check it out if you missed it and read the top posts of that period. We really do appreciate your comments so leave one for us in the section below each post.
Contributor, Clara Brown, sent me a message after reading “Enough: Is There In Your World?” She said that this post, like no other of the week, had her thinking long and hard. Although she is my friend, I really appreciated knowing that the central thought shared in that post allowed it to make the roundup.
It seems that the key to answering the question is to appreciate that wanting more does not necessarily equate to that there is not enough in the world already. In my belief system, the world has enough of the tangible and intangible. The challenge is how we share, distribute and use the enough that was already part of creation and is actually evolving even amid our misuse. – Claudette P. Esterine
