Learn Fast And Read The Signs Life Gives To You

Read The Signs!

Previously published in November, 2014

Soon after arriving in Canada, Edmonton to be exact, a man said to us as we wandered lost in the subway station, “Learn fast, read the signs!”

Not sure why that comment has stuck with me 13 years later but he was absolutely right.

My intuition is very powerful. It was tuned, literally and figuratively, while I studied for my first Master’s degree in the Ukraine in the 1980’s. Being prepared as I was for the diplomatic service, reading the signs, political, socioeconomic and historical, as well as the undercurrents, was a central part of my training.

These skills were very useful to me in my professional life. As a public relations executive and communicator, it was crucial to have an understanding of the signs of the times for my clients and or products that I was responsible for promoting. They were also extremely useful in providing services for my political clients as well.

Spiritual Awakening

Early in the 2000’s as my course changed, my spiritual antenna started to raise. I awakened to the world around me in a way that was previously unavailable to me. The signs became vivid and easy for me to read. So much so, that over time when I enter a room, two things happen:

  1. I could immediately sense the vibes, feel the energy of those I come in contact with; or
  2. I needed to leave as the energy was too much for me to handle.

Now, it is the rare occasion that I will go to crowded events or even a party.  I just cannot hack it. A cinema is the closest thing to a crowded place that I can attend, simply because my focus is on the screen and the only person I speak with or come close to is my companion. If you see me in the cinema, I will be the woman who has her coat and stuff on the empty seat to her left preventing you from sitting there.

With prayer, practice and long periods of solitude, my ability to read the signs, energy, people’s vibes upon first meeting – verbal, written, energetic and body language – has been fine-tuned. Often, without thinking about it, a flash of “who they are” and a sensation about our connection, how it will progress or not, overcomes me.

Ignore The Signs To Your Peril

Yes, I get it wrong sometimes and that is usually when I ignore the signals and allow my personal want to rule. For example, in my last relationship there were signs that the nature of our connection was changing and not for the good. Things were being said that I refused to hear and not just by my partner but what observers were trying to tell me, in code, but I did not want to know. Then finally, when the call came ending our relationship I received the ‘news’ calmly and with a shrug because my gut was telling me long before the words were recorded on my voice-mail.

spiritual awakening
Awaken to your life

Signs are everywhere for each of us to see. You need not be a clairvoyant, you need no special skills.  All that is required is a willingness to surrender your mind to the will of Love.

Sounds strange? It is not. Love is the force of Life and will clarify everything. What is not of Love will be shown to you – a sign will be presented, a warning or a brick over your head as a last resort.

  2. I’m guilty of ignoring the signs/ hearing what I wanted to hear. It’s so freeing to finally pay attention and hear the truth.

[…] “Learn Fast And Read The Signs That Life Gives To You,” was number four and included as it not only is based on “real-life” experiences of mine, but it bears out the point of Minding Your Own Business (MYOB). 4. I also seem to have this ‘gut feeling’ about certain situations. It actually saved me a few times in college!

    1. Ms Claudette

Yes, it’s best to pay attention to it.

  5. Your initial feelings or instincts are often the right ones to listen to. The energy of others can also be felt and give signs.

A woman’s intuition is very strong. It’s one of the traits that separates us from the men, lol.

I think every human being have the ability – some just don’t use it as much as others. 🙂

  7. I think I’m overly cautious when it comes to reading the signs people give off. Sometimes it’s helpful, but sometimes I just read to much into something that’s really a simple gesture.

Yes, it can be confused with your own biases, fears, insecurities or even pre-judgements that you were not aware of. That was true for me and is still true at times. When meeting a new person, I try to relax and listen to not only what they say but how my body responds to them. It is not something that I control. It is a feeling and if I allow it to “speak” to me, it usually isn’t wrong. Do you do dream analysis? Often times that is where the messages come through for me – in my dreams.

  8. I have always beenintune with others. I woul not listen sometimes.

    1. Ms Claudette

      We all do that! 🙂

  9. I’ve never been good at reading people. My mom, on the other hand is like you. She can tell right away if a person is real or scheming.

    1. Ms Claudette

You can be with some practice. Hard practice LOL and stillness – that for me was the blend, the mix. No, I can spot a game miles away no matter what fancy words are being whispered in my ear. I can also sense who and what is mutually beneficial. Thank you for dropping by! 🙂

  10. I think all these apply and are helpful to any career and industry. In my case, I am in Marketing ( real estate ) … in all my dealings, I try to be very sensitive of those around me and I always try to make it a point to ‘read the signs’. There are lot of non-verbal communication that happen so one must be very keen to these things.

Indeed they are applicable to any field or anything that we do in life. They are life signals. Glad to read that you are versed in reading them! Thanks for dropping by! 🙂
